This Year Make Yourself a Promise Be More YOU!

2019 is here! Don’t tell me already?? I know I’ve got the same feeling, as we can’t change anything about it. Let’s stop moaning and get on with it! Make yourself a promise in 2019 to be more YOU!

What does it mean?

Have an honest look at yourself and write down the areas where you are not showing up for yourself. i.e. it could be your relationship, your career, self-care, health, finances. It might be everything but choose one to start with. The idea is to look closer at what isn’t working for you and where you think you are letting yourself down.

the true meaning of beauty is who you are not what you look like

Have you suffered from beauty envy? I have lots of time, when I was a teen I starved myself trying to look like a waif, flat chested with clothes around my body, needless to say that I hardly managed subsiding on an apple for lunch and cigarettes. I was hungry!

The Self-Esteem magic

You’ve been struggling with self-esteem like, and it’s not like you haven’t been working at it, doing daily affirmations, building your confidence, getting noticed at work. From the outside, you look like the super confident woman out there. From the inside, it’s another story.

So having to give up all of that makes me sad really and you?

Your biggest break through will be when you understand that you don't need to ask permission anymore? Why because you finally love and trust yourself and you are your best friend!

Embrace Change, don't be afraid

Although change is inevitable, it took me a long time to embrace it. I was always on the nostalgic side of things, wishing I could go back in time to live through the same emotions and moments that made me so happy. We all know no such idea doesn't exist; life is moving fast, nothing stays the same. You either embrace it or live in constant fear of change.  I choose the former rather than the latter and wish it didn't take me so long to accept it, although better now than never.

My mission this year? A new photography project celebrating women

And working more with film photography, I love using my old Hasselblad and Pentax and made a commitment to photograph more with film this year!
